On June 5th, 2020, BJC Passing Score Organization was founded by Jayden Newbold and Kaeden Levarity. This program is a youth organization that focuses on preparing students for The Bahamas Junior Certificate (BJC) in the following subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Social Studies, Religious Studies, and Health Science. Qualified students in various subjects are helping to prepare other students to become successful in passing their Bahamas Junior Certificate Exam.
Our Program is a Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Culture-registered youth organization
BJC Passing Score originated as a modest math study group consisting of twelve students. As the need for additional subjects grew in July 2020, we expanded our offerings to include English, Social Studies, Health Science, General Science, and Religious Knowledge. During the 2020 BJC Examinations in September, an impressive 92% of our students attained grades of C and above in the subjects we provided instruction for. BJC Passing Score remains committed to providing complimentary online classes aimed at positively impacting and enhancing the overall national grade average.
In 2021, BJC Passing Score introduced its program to the broader community, aiming to reach more students and provide them with quality education. On August 20th of the same year, the organization was highlighted on ZNS evening news, which led to a significant increase in enrollment with over seventy new students joining the program. The success of the students was evident as many of them achieved outstanding examination results, showcasing the effectiveness of the BJC Passing Score program in helping students excel academically. With a vision to be recognized as a prominent organization on a national scale, BJC Passing Score received guidance from Tarquinn Pinder Jr, a former scholar turned Administrator, who connected them with Mrs. Carla Brown Roker, the Grand Bahama Youth Coordinator. Mrs. Brown-Roker played a pivotal role in assisting the organization in becoming officially registered as a Youth Organization under the Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture, a significant milestone that BJC Passing Score is immensely proud of.
The mission statement of BJC Passing Score has remained unchanged since June 5th, 2020. Our primary objective is to create a significant and lasting influence on the national average by positively impacting one candidate at a time during the Bahamas Junior Certificate Examination. We firmly believe that by focusing on individual candidates and providing them with the necessary resources and support, we can contribute to the overall improvement of the national average. Our commitment to this mission drives us to continuously strive for excellence and innovation in our approach to education and examination preparation.
BJC Passing Score has embarked on a transformative program that is poised to shape the future generation. This program is not only focused on achieving its goals, but also remains steadfast in upholding its mission statement and purpose.
